U.S. Virgin Islands Publishing Fundraiser: Critique for Auction

I’m donating a query + first 25 pg critique to help raise money for the U.S. Virgin Islands Publishing Fundraiser (#USVIPubFund), here

To bid, place your bid along with your name and email in the comments section at the link above (NOT this blog post) between today, October 17 at 9AM ET and Thursday, October 19 at 9PM ET. Comments before and after this timeframe will not be considered a bid. The final highest bid by Thursday, October 19 at 9PM ET will be the winner.

Opening bid is set at $25.

The U.S. Virgin Islands were decimated by Hurricane Irma on September 6, 2017 and Hurricane Maria on September 19, 2017. The two Category 5 hurricanes destroyed over 80% of residential homes and businesses and downed 90% of telephone and electrical poles.

Today, thousands of American citizens of the U.S. Virgin Islands are without homes or access to food or water—and the resounding plea across the islands is this: “Please don’t forget about us.”

#USVIPubFund has come together to show that publishing hasn’t forgotten the U.S. Virgin Islands with an online auction.

The auction opens at 9AM Eastern on Tuesday, October 17th. It closes at 9PM Eastern on Thursday, October 19th. Please note that lots for physical items are U.S. only unless otherwise specified.

The chosen organization to support is The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands, a philanthropic organization that manages a permanent collection of funds as well as essential programs and services to benefit the citizens of the U.S. Virgin Islands. All proceeds will go directly to CFVI.

Many thanks and appreciation to the USVIPubFund team and all the amazing editors, agents, and authors who have donated their time and skills!
